At Fine Arts, I went to a writing workshop. The instructor gave us ten tips on how to improve our writing. One of the things he said was that every story has to have conflict. Not necessarily "Someone's dying!" kind of conflict, more like "What am I going to wear today?" type of conflict. Our teacher also said that we need to be willing to listen to criticism, and also revise over and over and over until we are satisfied.
