Invitation To The Dance ~ SB1 ~ page 126

Figure skating is a form of dance. I have created a warm-up routine that I do before skating. I have several stretches that I do and I also run to get my legs warmed up. The stretches include splits, pike, straddle, butterfly, triceps stretch, quadriceps stretch, I.T. stretch, and the shoulder stretch. When I am running, I run both forwards and backwards, I do side toe hops, and then I walk to cool down a bit. Then I put on my skates. When I get on the ice, I do a couple of laps of stroking, a spiral sequence, and some footwork before getting started on other things.
