At co-op, we have learned several phrases in American Sign Language. Other ways that people in the deaf community communicate are: SEE (Signed Exact English), pigeon sign (a mix of ASL and SEE), and homing signals (which are signs used between family and close friends). There are also TTY machines, which allow them to communicate using a telephone.
